Job Description
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Act as the LEAD on all HONOLULU, HONOLULU Family and Frolic Hawaii branded events. This includes coordinating logistics, programming and décor, as well as:
- Select and manage outside vendors necessary to execute the events in a way that reflects positively on the brand.
- Lead all on-site event requirements including set-up and break-down, oversee staffing and lining up shift coverage from among staff.
- Work with the Marketing Director to create event materials, as needed.
- Communicate frequently and effectively to the rest of the sales, marketing, and editorial teams about event details
- Present past event recaps and upcoming event plans at monthly brand planning meetings and to sponsors.
- Keep all event and promotion budgets and pro formas up to date, formatted and organized at all times
- Manage sponsor deliverables and attend all meetings.
- Evolve, grow, and when necessary, retire, existing events to maintain our premier brand positioning.
- Identify and establish objectives and metrics for success for each event. Document and recap each event’s performance against the objectives. Manage each event’s performance to objectives, making recommendations to team at frequent points along the way to make necessary changes or modifications to stay on track.
- Assist with sponsor negotiations when necessary.
- Spearhead HONOLULU’s ticketing platform, HNLTix.com. This includes identifying prospects, assisting with initial outreach and demonstrations, tracking each event status, customer service, reporting and maintenance.
Requirements:
- Experience in event management of minimum 2-3 years
- Skilled in project management.
- Proficient in MS Office.
- Must have valid driver’s license and transportation.
- The position requires numerous night and weekend hours.
- Can lift at least 40 pounds.
Skills Needed:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Positive, can-do-anything attitude and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, problem solve, prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
- Ability to work well under pressure, managing multiple projects under tight deadlines.
Compensation:
- Annual salary range is $42,000 to $47,000.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
If you love sports and want to be involved with live sports radio broadcasts, apply for a position as a board operator for ESPN Honolulu and CBS 1500. We are hiring an on-call board operator in our downtown Honolulu studio supporting live radio broadcasts of sporting events and sports talk radio programs. This position reports to the Program Director.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate our state-of-the-art broadcast studio equipment to carry out live radio programs
- Cue on-air talent for the scheduled radio broadcast elements including commercial breaks, live remotes, guest interviews and listener phone calls
- Answer listener phone calls and place calls on air
- Play pre-recorded content including music, commercials, public service announcements, recorded interviews, or scheduled news feeds and traffic alerts
- Ensure all broadcasts comply with FCC regulations
- Assist with radio remote broadcasts
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Proficiency with audio equipment, audio processing, and Microsoft Office 365 applications
PREFERRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous experience with broadcast radio or TV production
COMPENSATION & SCHEDULE
This position is an on-call position with a varying work schedule (subject to change). Compensation is $15/hour.
